Joe,
The Motley Fool has a pretty negative opinion on IPI. Thanks to BHP's interest in POT, I sold my shares of SQM after a nice "pop". It's 30% owned by POT. I had purchased it originally as a play on lithium. Here's the Fool post on IPI:
